How to brand a Thanksgiving handprint tree
Today we are making thankful trees with the whole family unit. This is such a fun action for everyone to do together and is a very inexpensive arts and crafts to make.

Supplies needed to brand a handprint tree
- Old paper towel scroll
- Paper plate
- Acrylic pigment – dark-brown, green, and other autumn colors
- Paintbrush or foam brush
- White paper or menu stock
- Pipage cleaners
- Marking
- Scissors
- Glue and tape
Instructions for making a handprint tree

Stride i
Pigment a couple of coats of brown paint on the newspaper towel roll to make it look like a tree trunk. If you don't accept a green paper plate, paint a couple of coats of dark-green pigment on the paper plate.

Step 2
Have each family member choose a pigment color (we used fall colors). Paint each person's paw and then have them press their hand firmly onto a piece of paper. Set the handprints aside to dry.
Craft tip: If you have a lot of family members and not plenty pigment colors, effort mixing colors to make lighter and darker shades.

Step iii
In one case the newspaper curlicue is dry, cut four 1 inch slits around one end of it. Bend the pieces back, put glue onto them, and press them onto the centre of the paper plate. This will preclude your tree from toppling over once you add the handprint leaves to the top.

Once the handprints are dry, use pair of scissors to cutting around each one.

Step 5
Attach pipage cleaners to the back of each hand with record. Have each person write what they are thankful for on the dorsum of the hand. Tape the other end of the paw inside the paper tube.
